Opening Ceremony of IGE on May 27th

The official opening ceremony of “Ban Ki-moon Institute for Global Education in Support of United Nations Academic Impact (IGE)” will be held on the 27th of May, 2019 at Handong Global University, Pohang, Republic of Korea. The Ceremony is co-hosted by Handong Global University (HGU) and Korean Association of Academic Impact in Support of United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI Korea). In the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, will deliver a message on the essence of holistic GCED as the Honorary President of Ban Ki-moon IGE.

With the increasing importance of Global Citizenship Education (GCED) as a cross-cutting issue to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Ban Ki-moon IGE will be the world’s first institute comprehensively implementing holistic GCED for sustainable peace and prosperity in the 21st Century. Based on its core educational philosophy, “H.U.M.A.N.E.” education*, its holistic GCED program will be provided from fall semester of 2019 to transform the mindsets and attitudes of global leaders and increase their capacities for solving global challenges and issues.
