Ban Ki-moon

Honorary President of IGE

The 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations

“We must foster global citizenship to forge more just, peaceful and tolerant world. “Human education” is the only way to transform people as a whole-person and to nurture global citizens making an impact for a sustainable world.”

The necessity of an integrative holistic education emerged in the international community since the beginning of the 21st Century, when the UN and UNESCO emphasized the importance of “morality”, “spirituality”, “values” and “attitudes” as a central part of education for a sustainable future. In the era of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Global Citizenship Education (GCED) has been a priority agenda for global education as a cross-cutting issue to achieve the UN SDGs.

The problem until now was that despite the importance of GCED, there were not many programs to systemize the GCED as a concrete program in higher education. Now, GRACE School offers Globally Responsible and Advanced Citizenship Education (GRACE) for higher education. We have invaluable opportunities to transform the world for the better through global citizens who are trained at GRACE School.

Global citizens of GRACE School are those who look beyond the narrow prism of individuals, and countries and think as members of this world community. They are the global leaders who hold the keys to unlock a more sustainable, peaceful and prosperous world. I am confident that with your help, GRACE School can work with you together to achieve a sustainable world by the spirit of global citizenship.
