Ban Ki-moon Institute for Global Education in Support of UNAI (IGE) 2019 Fall Semester CoursesBan Ki-moon Institute for Global Education in Support of UN Academic Impact (IGE) is the world's first institute to provide Globally Responsible and Advanced Citizenship Education (GRACE) for sustainable peace and prosperity in the 21st Century.Starting from the Fall 2019 semester, IGE offers Holistic Global Citizenship Program (HGCP) to develop global leaders in the era of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).The main focus of HGCP is to transform the mindsets and attitudes of global leaders based on IGE's educational philosophy, H.U.M.A.N.E.* education. Furthermore, experts of various fields analyze the 21st century's global issues in the perspectives of global citizens and train global expertise to solve those issues in innovative and practical ways. The 6 core courses are co-operated with the School of Creative Convergence Education at Handong Global University and can be accredited for general English elective requirement. In addition, once the 6 core classes are completed, HGCP Certificate will be issued along with an internship opportunity at both domestic and international organizations.For 2019 Fall semester, the 3 core classes, 'H', 'M', 'A' are offered and can be registered through the existing class registration process. MOU Signing Ceremony with BAN KI-MOON Centre for Global Citizens
Ban Ki-moon Institute for Global Education in Support of UNAI (IGE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) on June 21, 2019 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. This MOU states that the two institutes are in mutual cooperation and are affiliated with each other in joint programs and projects. Such joint programs and projects include collaborating on developing academic programs and courses on global citizenship, initiating relevant forums, developing scholarships, and exchanging fellowships. A total of 7 individuals attended the event from both institutes. Jeffrey Choi and Monica Froehler represented the two entities, discussed, and exchanged the MOU presented. Through this agreement, IGE and BKMC will further promote mutual cooperation to strengthen Global Citizenship Education (GCED) and to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Opening Ceremony of IGE
THE OPENING CEREMONY OF BAN KI-MOON INSTITUTE FOR GLOBAL EDUCATION IN SUPPORT OF UNAI (IGE) on May 27thThe United Nations Academic Impact Korea and Handong Global University held the opening ceremony of “Ban Ki-moon Institute for Global Education in Support of UNAI (IGE)” at Handong Global University in Pohang on May 27th. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ban Ki-moon (The 8th UN Secretary-General), Dr. Heinz Fischer (The 11th President of Austria), and 250 guests from universities, international organizations, government and NGOs. IGE is the world’s first institute in comprehensively providing the advanced global citizenship education which is Globally Responsible and Advanced Citizenship Education (GRACE) for sustainable peace and prosperity in the 21st Century. GRACE School of the IGE will provide the certificate program of “Holistic Global Citizenship” from the 2nd semester of 2019. The program, designed based on the core educational philosophy of IGE, “H.U.M.A.N.E.”, will raise Global Problem Solver (GPS) who are equipped with actual problem-solving capacities as well as right mindset and attitudes in the era of UN SDGs. Dr. Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary General of UN and Honorary President of IGE said in his welcoming speech, “IGE will foster global citizens through holistic global citizenship education, which will lead to the achievement of the three pillars of the UN as well as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” Dr. Young-Gil Kim, President of IGE also mentioned the mission of IGE and said “IGE will expand the essence of 20-year experience of holistic and global education by Handong Global University into a new educational paradigm of global citizenship education with more global perspective.”
